Our Drag Car  Hi Comp Performance have built and run a 2,000 model Jerry Bickle Camaro. We have built and installed an LS 3 engine with a 416 CI stroker kit VCM camshaft and Harrop 8 throttle hurricane manifold the car is naturally aspirated and runs 98 octane pump fuel the car has run a best of 8.8 seconds at 149 MPH. The engine represents what can be done to a street registered commodore because we have used all off the shelf parts to create a package which could easily be run in a road going car. Hi Comp have built our own headers in-house engine build in-house, installation, and tuning in house. Power is 462 horse power at the wheels measured on our dyno dynamics chassis dyno. Vehicle weight is 908 kg with driver. The car 60 fts in 1.3 seconds and runs straight and true right up the track. Future plans for the car include, a set of CNC imported heads as they are currently stock and inclosed air box. We hope these modifications will bring ETs down to 8.5 seconds. The car is currently very maintenance free, with only fluids checked between runs. The car has proven to be very reliable and is a crowd favourite. |
